A wife, mama, & homemaker - saved by the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. I’m so excited to meet you!
Everyday Homeschooler grew from our kitchen table — a place where math lessons, meal plans, and milk spills collide. I created this space as a way to share encouragement and advice to other homeschooling moms.
At Everyday Homeschooler you’ll find straightforward curriculum reviews, hands-on homeschooling tips, family-friendly recipes, and vlogs that show real-life rhythms of our big family.
I also create homeschool printables and resources, especially for special needs learners. As a special needs mom, I know it can be difficult to find simple and affordable homeschooling help. So I offer a small shop with visuals, printables, and merch designed to make learning at home easier and fun!
Welcome to Everyday Homeschooler, I’m so glad that you’re here!
Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a dose of inspiration, you’re in the right place! Grab a cup of coffee and follow along.
I’ll never forget the morning I met Justin.
It was a snowy Sunday in February more than 20 years ago. I nervously sat fidgeting on a cold metal folding chair, uneasy because I had just recently started attending church and knew almost no one there. I looked up and noticed a cute guy across the room smiling at me.
To say it was love at first sight is a stretch, but he quickly won my heart by offering me rides to church, introducing me to Chipotle, and intently listening to all my stories and worries. Justin was my best friend before he was my love and he showed me what faith in action looks like!
Justin is a software engineer, runner, coffee snob & bourbon lover. Seriously - you should check out our bourbon collection. It’s pretty impressive!
We are both passionate about ministry! Several years ago we took the plunge and started serving at a local church plant, where Justin is now an elder/pastor.
On a typical night you can find us devouring Thai food or tacos, playing euchre, & watching YouTube.
Noah, Leah, Mariah, Ezra and Ava - our five kiddos, who keep our days so fun and full.
Each of them bring their own personality and spark to our home - from Kindergarten to 12th grade, we are covering all the bases this year in our homeschool.
(If you know our story, you likely know that we also have three precious babes awaiting us in heaven some day. They took pieces of our hearts with them, each of their lives and stories have forever changed our family.)
Q&A
-

Do you have a background in education?
Yes! In college I studied education, art, and Bible.
In my early twenties I was given the opportunity to serve in several children’s and youth ministry classrooms. I later went on to become a Kids Ministry Director and High School Youth Group Leader. I fell in love with teaching, hands-on learning, and crafting curriculum.

What's your Homeschooling Style?
Over the years we have tried many different homeschool methods… and just about every curriculum too.
Our style could definitely be labeled as eclectic. We are a mix of unit studies and traditional, with a Charlotte Mason flare thrown in there!

Why the name Everyday Homeschooler?
Well to start, that’s exactly what I am - an everyday homeschooler. No, I don’t homeschool every single day. I mean that I am a typical homeschool mom.
Like so many of you, I am in the trenches, struggling to juggle math lessons, laundry, and little children - often forgetting to set something out for dinner.
I chose the name Everyday Homeschooler because it is the type of content I strive to provide here. The aim of this platform is to provided encouragement and help that meets you right where you are, in your everyday life.

Where do your recipes come from?
I am by no means a food blogger, but wanted a place to share simple and practical recipes for busy moms.
Most of my recipes have been cooked up in my own kitchen! I don’t tend to measure and like to experiment with recipes I’ve seen through the years. I adapt and make them my own, or “doctor them up” as my grandmother used to say!
